Legal Window Tint in the UK – What You Need to Know
For vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1985, the front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows at least 70%. For vehicles first used before 1 April 1985, both must let at least 70% through. There is no legal limit for the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.

Window Tinting FAQs
How dark can I legally tint my car windows?
For vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1985, the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through and the windscreen at least 75%. There is no legal limit for the rear windows and rear screen, so you can go as dark as 5% “limo” tint there. See GOV.UK for the full rules.
Will window tint affect my rear demister?
No – the film is applied to the inside of the glass and your rear demister will keep working as normal. On a small number of cars there can be very slight distortion near the heater lines.
How long does window tinting take?
It depends on the make and model of your vehicle. Call us on 07948 685 529 with your vehicle details and we will give you an estimate.
How much does window tinting cost in Bolton?

Can you tint a car that has been tinted before?

Use any non-ammonia cleaner with a soft microfibre or non-abrasive cloth.
What warranty do I get?
Our installations are backed by a lifetime warranty. If your film ever peels or bubbles, we will replace it.
Is the film fitted inside or outside the glass?
Window film is applied to the inside of the glass.
Can I see the tint shades before I decide?
